This FUZZ effect ist the easiest you can build and it sounds okay.

I added an input attenuator to bring the signal level down and replaced the trimmer with another pot for the output level. In hindsight I’d probably remove the output attenuator. Also an opamp gain stage get the signal level back up would be an option.
